Woke up in Cheongju this morning to explore a part of the country I am mildly familiar with. The central part of Korea is
known for its mountainous terrain, its beautiful national parks, and probably a third thing. The main goal for today was to see the mountain fortresses of Korea, a site in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative list.
Unfortunately, a lot of the coordinates on the UNESCO website were incorrect, making this a bit of a wild goose chase for 3 of the 5 I tried to read. Of the two I managed to reach, _________ was the nicest. It has a huge park looking up to it which would be perfect for a picnic.
The second one was nice, but I REALLY recommend you bring some bug spray. I have never had that many mosquitoes rain down on me at the same time and I’ve been to Florida! In any case, ____ is a most unusual fortress. Its architecture differs most likely due to the much earlier era when it was constructed.
See ya!
