Maze Land
Puzzles aren’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Jeju Island. Naturally, you think of the beaches, the mountains, and the hikes. However, one of the best features of this island is that it has something for every one. One of my favorite memories from my first two trips to Jeju was the Maze Park. I wasn’t planning to visit a 3rd time but jumped on the chance when I learned about a second Maze “Land” nearby.
To be honest, the mazes themselves were just okay. Despite calling itself a maze, it was pretty linear in that you could follow a single path and reach the exit. This could be easily written off as yet another tourist trap, except for one thing.
Puzzle Museum
Near the entrance of the Maze Land is the Puzzle Museum. This museum seems to have been put together as almost an afterthought, designed to fill in the extra space they had. Little did they know, for those of us who love puzzles and their history, it is definitely the highlight. From the history of the Minotaur’s labyrinth, to the 64 piece tower of Hanoi, to the classic Rubik’s Cube, the Puzzle Museum is pretty amazing. Sure, do the mazes and take the pictures as you pretend to be lost, but not really, but save some time for this amazing museum.
Honorable Mention – Saryeoni Forest was pretty cool.
