New 7 Wonders of Nature

What are these?

After the success of the New 7 Foundation’s Seven Wonders of the World campaign, they decided to do it again. Another planet wide vote lead to the selection of the New 7 Wonders of Nature on November 11, 2011. This list was more controversial than the last because of the inclusion of Jeju Island, a beautiful island, but a far cry from being a world wonder. Fine, maybe it was just controversial in my mind, but seriously, how does Jeju beat the Great Barrier Reef? Nevertheless, it is still a great list to check off, and a fantastic life goal to chase.

Wonders I have Visited

1) Jeju Island (July, 2011 // South Korea)

On the top of Hallasan Mountain, there is a large lake. This mountain was a volcano that erupted around 1000 A.D.

2) Komodo National Park (July, 2013 // Indonesia)

The Komodo dragons are a result of ‘island giantism,’ an uncontrolled evolutionary growth when a species evolves in isolation, usually on an island. There are about 5000 dragons living on Rinca and Komodo Islands, both part of Komodo National Park.

Wonders I have NOT Visited

3) Halong Bay

4) Iguazy Falls

5) Amazon Forest

6) Puerto Princesa Underground River

7) Table Mountain

I might visit Puerto Princesa in September, but nothing is planned.
