I thought about ranting about why some blogs are absolute crap, but I am starting to get a lot more negative than I should be. Instead, let me introduce you guys to some blogs that are actually doing something right. From the useful, to the funny, and to the unconventional, here are my favorites.

Note – A couple of places overlap with the list of Top 80 Things to do in Seoul. This was done on purpose for two reasons. First, many of these lie in the greater Seoul metro network, making a separation impractical for a guide. Secondly, it is a good benchmark for you to compare how these places stack up to places in Seoul!

In 1871, the famous American geologist Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden made a successful survey of the Yellowstone area and pleaded his case to congress. For his time, the proposal was pretty ludicrous, but he managed to convince our lawmakers. He argued that there was more to gain by leaving the land aside than to auction it off to developers. If there is one thing I have learned from living in New Zealand the last four months, is that nothing comes cheaply in this part of the world. Between $6 per gallon of gas and $3 for a 20 oz. bottle of coke, you really have to budget wisely if you want to ‘see it all.’ Kiwis are a resourceful bunch and use a brilliant system of bartering and connections to get things done. In a large country with only 4 million people, there is a plethora of small towns and with that, comes that small town mentality where everyone knows and tries to help everyone else out.
